Alex Madison was late for work. He'd been looking for his socks for the past twenty minutes, and definitely wouldn't make it on time at this point. They were nowhere in his room, not in the laundry, and he'd just been about to give up when he saw them in a pile in the corner of the bathroom... with a sticky note on one of them. Pulling the note off, he read it out loud, feeling like an idiot as he did so.
"I wish I looked like someone else in my family, and my family knew it was me." Shrugging, he flushed the paper down the toilet, and turned to look at the mirror, horrified at what he saw! A little girl stared back at him, her cute face framed by long red hair, bright green eyes watching him. She wore a green dress and little black shoes, and seemed like a perfectly normal little girl. Not an adult man.
He wasn't late to work anymore; a little girl couldn't do the lifting he did as a mover. What would his wife say? His kids? Mikey might like his cousin Megan being around. She wasn't around very often, but Alex recognized his niece. He walked out of the bathroom and was immediately scooped up by his wife Linda, who planted a kiss on his lips. "How's my little hubby?" Alex felt like a child being held in his wife's arms, but at the moment, he was a child. "You look so cute in your little dress that matches your eyes. This is so nice of you to do this for Megan, and I love having another little girl in the house. Zoe grew up so quickly."
Alex puzzled at her reaction, but shook it off and hugged her back, leaning into her and being content just sitting in her arms.
