It would take a good wish to make John believe he was being honest about it, so he held it up for theatrics, speaking clearly...
"I wish my mom would come in and offer to make chocolate chip pancakes for both of us, and that she wouldn't find anything odd about both of us being here and out of school today. Aardvark."
Fifteen minutes later, they were both eating chocolate chip pancakes, and John was a firm believer in the power of the stone. "Cool! What are you gonna wish for? Can I make a wish? What have you wished for before?" Mikey grinned at John. "I dunno yet. And I haven't wished for anything but you to be here, and mom to make us these pancakes. Maybe you can make a wish... lemme think about it a little bit."
As they finished their pancakes, Mikey thought about the things he could do for - and to - his family and friends. Once John asked again, he had his answer ready. "Yeah, I guess so, but don't be too surprised if your wish doesn't come true. The stone has some restrictions."
With that, he handed the stone to John, who grinned as if he had just been given a million dollars. "I can't stand being told no. I wish I got whatever I like." Mikey whispered "aardvark" after a moment, approving the wish. The wish seemed selfish to him, but John was a good friend.
"We have a day to ourselves. We can do anything we want!" Mikey exclaimed, grinning at John. "Anything??" The possibilities seemed to stun him, but he soon came up with something. "Let's go see a movie!" Mikey frowned. "We can see a movie anytime we want."
John looked smug. Apparently his plan had another part to it. "Not just ANY movie! An X movie! The kind they show downtown!" Suddenly, it was a lot more appealing to Mikey. He had never seen a porno besides occasionally walking in on his brother; his parents were very strict about it. They walked out of the house together to the bus stop, eager to use John's newfound power and their wishing stone.
