As Miss Grant practically dragged him down the hall, Mikey gradually got over the shock of having his new boobies. He thought about what had happened, and then he put it together: The stone had gotten hot when he'd made the stupid wish; it must be magic! He remembered the joke Benny had told him last week, the one with the punchline, "I wish I were an Oscar Meyer weiner... poof!" and shuddered. It could have been a lot worse.
Miss Grant stopped in front of Mikey's locker. "C'mon, open it. Get out your sports bra and your gym shirt, the one that fits you properly. And they better be in there, or this time it's a suspension!"
Mikey fumbled with the combination. He started to sweat. It was just like the last time he hadn't done his homework. He knew there was no bra in there. At least this time he hadn't lied and said it was in his locker when it wasn't; Miss Grant had just assumed. Stalling for time, he deliberately spun past the final number in the combination, and then pulled up on the handle. Of course it didn't open. He mumbled, "Sorry," and started over.
Miss Grant crossed her arms and tapped her foot. "Hurry up, we don't have all day."
Mikey sighed, and decided it couldn't hurt. Maybe he had another wish coming. He crossed his fingers and said, "I wish I didn't have these boobies."
Miss Grant smiled in sympathy. "I know, it's hard. You're just going to have to buck up, Mister!"
The stone hadn't gotten hot this time, and he still had the boobs. Mikey sighed again. He had gotten only one wish, and he'd wasted it on these stupid breasts! He resigned himself to the inevitable, and finished spinning the locker combination properly this time.
