"I wish I wasn't in school today," Benny whispered to himself. But this time, Mikey heard him. Then, suddenly, right in front of Mikey, Benny disappeared.
"Benny?" Mikey said, loud enough to grab the teacher's attention.
"Please pay attention, Mr. Madison," Ms. Grant said, interrupting her lesson.
"But ... Benny's gone," he said, in shock.
"Yes, I know. He's at home, sick."
"What? No, he was here. He was sitting right next to me. Then he vanished."
People started to look at him, but not like before. Now they were looking at him like he was crazy.
"I'm telling the truth," Mikey pleaded. But no one seemed to believe him. Why didn't they believe him?
Meanwhile, Benny appeared back in his bedroom, the wishing rock still in his hand.
