"That's odd," Jon thought. "Usually Mom calls us for dinner." Jon's dad had arrived home a lot earlier than normal, but at the time Jon hadn't thought too much about it. As Jon walked into the dining room, he soon saw why. Jon's dad Dave was scolding Linda for starting to eat before everyone else got to the table. Linda was wearing baggy jean shorts and a t-shirt (and, Jon noticed with some embarrassment, no bra). She was sitting backwards on her chair with her legs cocked out to the sides and was rolling her eyes as she listened to her husband's lecture.
"Dave," she said, "I love you, but you can be such a square sometimes!"
"Great," Jon thought, "Mom's got a teenager's attitude, too!"
