"It's okay," Karyn said, sounding a little optimistic. "All you need to do is touch it with your skin."
Zoe understood what she was saying and was about to drop out of her wheelchair to maneuver over to the stone. But before she could do it, they heard footsteps coming from out in the hall.
"Who's that?" Zoe asked. "Mom won't be back til later."
The door opened and a blonde teenage girl, that they had never seen before, walked in.
"Well, I better get started," she sighed. "Boy, I could think of something better to do than taking care of you three invalids," she whispered to herself.
