"We're not helpless," said Karyn.
"What?" replied Jon.
"Zoe's first wish," she explained. "She wished she could change anything about you. And she made it first."
"I still don't get it," said Jon.
"She made it first, so it's the paraplegic wishes that can't reverse it, rather than the other way around. Zoe, you can change Jon back. Just do it!
"Uh, er," said Zoe. "Fine," she said and concentrated; and then, Jon turned back to normal.
"There's more," said Karyn. "Jon, give me the stone... Hold it to my neck or something."
"What's your idea, Karyn?"
"Just... do it," growled Karyn.
He picked up the stone and held it to Karyn's neck. Karyn immediately said "I wish Zoe is asleep and won't wake up until I say so."
It took a moment for Zoe to realize what Karyn was saying. But barely had the words registered on her mind than she fell asleep, unable to say or do anything.
"Whew," said Karyn, looking around. Jon's wheelchair was gone again and there was no sign he ever had one; Zoe's new ability must change reality like the stone. "That was bad. I needed to get her asleep before she could change you further. Now how do we get us two back to normal?"
"I don't know," said Jon. "Wait a minute... that's it! The other wishes were for you and Zoe to be like me. The wish didn't say how to be like me... remember what we did with the tree branch? We had to keep it blue but we could change the kind of blue. I wish that Karyn and Zoe are like me, not by being crippled, but by...."
