Zoe looked at the stone and contemplated an other wish. As powerful as the stone was, Zoe really didn't want to be carrying it around all the time. The potential for disaster was far too high. She thought she'd make a wish to protect her self before giving it back. Zoe figured she'd let her idiot brother flirt with disaster.
"Zoe put the stone down," Jon pleaded, "You don't know what you're doing."
"Oh, be quiet!" Zoe groaned back.
Jon made an attempt to continue his point, but his voice fell silent. His sister smiled with approval, as Jon was forced to mouth words and wave his hands around to communicate.
"That was for making me a blonde" Zoe snarked back to her mute brother. "Excuse me for one moment."
Zoe held the stone up to her face and whispered something into the stone. Jon and Karyn strained their ears to listen. They could technically hear her voice making a wish, but it was too soft for them to decipher any of the words.
What Zoe said to the stone was this: "I wish that I would be alerted to any wish made that would effect me, and I would be able to alter the wish before it is granted."
Having completed her wish, Zoe took the stone and tossed it back over to her silent brother. Jon and Karyn both wore worried looks as they watched Zoe smile and leave the room. A few moments passed and Zoe willed Jon the return of his voice. At which point he asked his friend Karyn, "How badly do you think we're screwed?"
