Karyn, shocked, picked up the stone and said, "I wish I knew what the hell had led to..." she gestured toward the nearly vomit-inducing sight of her best friend and his sister naked in bed together, "this," she finished lamely. There was a flash of light and suddenly Karyn knew about the wish that Jon had made, the wish about having a sexual relationship with the next person that he saw. She shook her head slowly, "Jon-Boy, Jon-Boy," she said slowly, disappointment oozing from every syllable, "Why would you make such a dumb ass wish?" She paused, "I wish I knew." Once again, the stone flashed, and a look of outrage crossed Karyn's face.
"I don't believe this Jon!" she shouted. "How could you even think about doing something like this to me! Wish me into having sex with you?" Karyn was fuming. Jon had never seen her like this and, her head resting on his bare chest, even Zoe looked frightened.
"What's she talking about?" the young goth girl whispered to her brother and lover.
"Don't worry about it Zoe," he said softly, stroking her long black hair, "It has nothing to do with you."
"Nothing to do with her?" Karyn bellowed angrily. "Zoe, these feelings aren't yours. Your asshole pervert of a brother used this rock," she held it up for all to see, "to make you want to have sex with him. My god Jon! This is incest! You're fucking your goddamned sister!"
"I know how I feel," Zoe said firmly, sitting up on the bed, the upper half of her body naked without the covers. "I love Jon, and I've always been attracted to him. I know narrow minded people like you think this is wrong, think it's sick, but this is love." Jon, enticed by his sister's sudden passion, couldn't help but smile. "Besides, that's just a stupid rock in your hand. What?" she asked chuckling somewhat menacingly, "You gonna try and tell me it's some fucking magical stone? You honestly believe it has the power to grant wishes?"
Karyn's face was turning red now. She'd never been so angry, so disgusted in her life. Of course Zoe didn't know what was going on, but Jon did. He'd made the wish and had to be aware of the change. Did he really not care? Even scarier, as Karyn had thought she knew her long time friend very well, was this something he'd always wanted deep down? Emotions like anger, betrayal, and hatred were flowing through her and she felt her rational mind being pulled into the swirl like a vortex.
She should have calmed down a little, maybe left the place. Hell, she could have tried counting to ten. Instead, in the midst of her anger, she held the stone up and uttered those terrifying words, "I wish..."
