The bookmark can be placed into a book and triggered an infinite number of times per session. Earlier uses make bigger changes to the narrative, over time the element pulled from each book becomes more insignificant. For example, user 437 triggered the bookmark 103 times before initiating her first session. The 103 triggering took a barkeep that only showed up in one chapter in the source material and placed them in a small village on the other side of the country from the protagonist. The element's or characteristics that are taken from to book to create the new narrative can be anything. Can be; A character or character traits, plot or plot elements, locale/setting, one of the themes of the novel, genre, or really anything in the novel. They will be all mixed up for the user(s) enjoyment.
A small notebook containing helpful information will always be found on each user's person, never to be lost.
"Oh cool, so it's kinda like randomly generated FanFiction that we can experience from within."
"What should we pick?" Karyn asked.
"Here give it to me." Karyn passed it to Jon causing the bookmark to glow.
In Jon's hands appeared a notebook, whereas Karyn's appeared in her pocket. Opening it caused words the swim on the first page, giving Jon the impression that he was reading it as it was getting typed.
