Meanwhile, Karyn began to change. Her jeans were replaced by a knee length skirt and pantyhose. Her casual t-shirt changed to a blouse and her fingernails were suddenly coated in a shade of dark red nail polish. Because Jon and Karyn didn't hear the wish, they both assumed that Karyn had always been feminine. The thought of a tomboy Karyn would seem as strange to them as a feminine Karyn would have seemed to their old selves.
Karyn's life had changed. She and Jon were a couple in this new reality, which didn't stop them from having friendships with other members of the opposite sex. Karyn also had a circle of female friends, most of whom she hadn't really hung out with before. After school, Karyn came to find Jon. "I'm going to be hanging out with the girls tonight, so I won't be spending time at your house. Make sure that you let me know if you make a wish or at least put in some clause so that I'm aware of any changes, all right?"
"Sure thing," said Jon. Karyn kissed him and dashed off to find her girlfriends. Jon walked home alone, wondering how he would use the stone tonight. Part of him didn't want to, after all, Karyn was his girlfriend and using the stone with her was special. It was one of the reasons he told her about it and gave her her own stone. But he supposed that one of the reasons why he gave her a stone of her own was because she was his girlfriend and so they could both make wishes while they were apart. After all, it wouldn't be fair for Karyn to try and make them stay together all the time because of the stone. Jon made it home, went to his room and began to decide what to do with his stone.
