The life Yuki currently found herself in was the one that originally belonged to Sabrina Johnson. Her clothing was more subdued than the original, but this goth version, Jackie Johnson, stood out more than any of her previous selves. Her hair had been dyed an electric blue, and piercings decorated her lip, ears, nose and eyes. Currently she was sketching out new ideas for her tattoo work.
"Oh my gosh! Those are totally cute Jackie! You drew those?" Jackie looked up to see Laura Barrett looking down at her sketchbook. She sighed, her train of thought ruined by the bimbo.
"Laura, I think Jackie wanted some time to herself." Samantha managed to catch up, a little out of breath from the effort. There were times Laura didn't understand how hard it was for a pregnant woman to get around.
"It's fine Samantha. Most of my work is meant to be seen eventually, so I don't hate having it admired." Jackie looked down to the elaborate floral design she'd spent the morning perfecting. She could see the mistakes, but that was just her critical eye.
"This is, like, the prettiest drawing ever!" Laura grabbed the sketchbook and brought it to Samantha.
"Laura! Don't just take it from her! What if the page had gotten torn or crumpled?" It still astounded her how Laura didn't bother with personal space.
"Ugh, sorry, but you've totally got to see it." Laura demurely handed the sketchbook over like a child in trouble. There was no trace of the stern woman she once was.
"This really is incredible work." Samantha said as she studied the details. The colors were vibrant, the petals dripping dew looked realistic, and the assortment of flowers was awe inducing. "Are you doing this for an art project?"
"Something like that." Jackie got up and walked over to Samantha, holding her hand out for the book. Taking it back she gave a soft smile. "I work part time for a tattoo parlor at the mall. This piece is one that may end up living on someone someday."
"Wait, I could get that tattooed on me! That would be the best! Jackie, pretty please let me get that design!" Laura immediately begged.
Laura Ferguson had adamantly proclaimed tattoos were evil. That they ruined the body given by God, and were unsightly devilish things. All the same she did have an appreciation for art. With the looser morals of her new life Laura Barrett felt Jackie's design calling to her, as if it had been fate for it to be a part of her.
"Are you sure Laura? That's a big decision to make at a moment's notice like that." Samantha warned her.
"I have to agree with your friend. I'm glad you like my work, but do you want this piece on you forever?" Jackie asked.
"Totally! It's like you made it just for me.Please Jackie! I'll love you forever if you let me get it!" Laura gave puppy dog eyes as Jackie stared at her in disbelief. No one had ever begged to get one of her designs like this.
"Look, I've got some more sketches. Why don't we meet in one of the classrooms after school so you can look through them, but take the day to really make sure this is what you want." Jackie looked to Samantha as she addressed Laura. She would be happy to do the work, but knew Laura was prone to split second decisions. She wanted to give Samantha time to make Laura reconsider.
"That would be super!" Laura cheered.
"Thank you Jackie. I guess we'll see you this afternoon." Samantha smiled as she grabbed Laura's arm and started leading her away.
"See ya later Jackie! Thanks a ton!" Laura waved excitedly as she looked ready to skip down the hall.
Jackie had been a loner, but it felt wonderful having her talent recognized. She remembered there was an art show coming up ext week, and began considering entering some pieces of work,
The former Yuki Meshida wasn't the only one chaging as she went hrough her different lives. Gladys Myers, who had once been Gladys Brewer, had found herself giving directions to the soccer field while taking out trash from the cafeteria the day before. The day before as a lunch lady she had spouted the appeal of big beautiful women, and convinced Karyn to join her on a weekend excursion to feel young and sexy again. While Karyn had stayed the same Gladys had moved into a new life.
