"Hey, Jon," came the voice from the other end of the phone. It was his friend Tim Brant.
"Hey, Tim. What's up?" Jon asked.
"Karyn told me about the stone."
Jon's eyes bulged. He thought that they were keeping the stone a secret. Even from their friends Tim and Pete. Why did Karyn tell Tim about it?
"I know you might get angry about it," Tim said. "But Karyn said it would be all right."
She did, did she? Jon thought.
"I just wanted to know if I could make a wish with it," Tim said. "If it's not too much trouble."
What was Jon going to do?
