"And the person I would like to be married to is Karyn's Dad." Jon thought for a second and added. "In addition, Karyn's Dad and I would both stay male, so our marriage would be a gay marriage, and Karyn would find nothing strange about her father and her best friend being married." The stone flashed, and Jon found himself in Karyn's house.
Just then, Karyn walked in. "Hey, Dad," she said. "I didn't know you were here. I thought you and Dad had already left."
Dad, thought Jon. It sounded strange to him that his best friend would call him Dad. Apparently she was not only comfortable with their marriage, but she was comfortable calling both of her 'parents' Dad. "Hey, Sweetie," he replied. "I just came up for something I forgot."
"Is it the stone?" she asked. Apparently she knew about it in this reality. "Are you going to let Dad use it?"
"Yeah," said Jon. "Is there anything that you wanted to wish for?"
"Not right now,Dad," said Karyn. "When you told us about the stone, we all promised that we would only make wishes when all three of us were present. May be when you and Dad get back from your vacation. That'll give me time to think of something good while still leaving loopholes."
"Good idea," said Jon.
"Jon, dear," Karyn's dad called up. "Are you ready?"
"Just saying good-bye to Karyn, darling," Jon called back. "Got to go, honey."
"Bye, Dad," said Karyn. "Have a good time."
