I've noticed that pictures tend to have a life-expectancy of two to three years, after which they expire and leave a blank gap in the chapter. If no description is given, we end up wondering what the author had in mind. Sure, we could use our imaginations, but helpful details (like the ones you provided in your entries) really encourage the reader's minds to collaborate with the author's vision.
