"Do you notice anything different?" Sarah asked her changed friend Melissa.
She squinted at Sarah, as if considering the question. "Well, I'm not sure. Did you, uh, buy a new shirt?"
"No, I'm not talking about my clothes. Do you notice anything different about me?"
"No. Should I?" She paused, then picked up the shopping bags that Sarah was apparently supposed to be watching. She turned, then frowned. "Come on, let's get out of here. I don't want to have another run-in with that bitch Gladys."
"Gladys?" Sarah asked. There was only one Gladys that Sarah knew and she definitely wasn't a bitch. Maybe a fat pig, but not a bitch. She turned and got another shock. It was Gladys Brewer, but ... she wasn't fat anymore. In fact, she looked as hot as Sarah used to be. She was even wearing similar clothes.
What's going on? Sarah thought, confused more than ever.
