"Hi, Karyn," Jon said over the phone.
"Oh, hi, Jon," she said. "What's up?"
"Do you know someone named Sarah McMillan?"
"Isn't that the Goth girl that hangs out with your sister?" Karyn asked.
So Sarah hated a Goth girl the most. That wasn't too surprising. But which Goth girl? It apparently wasn't his sister, according to what Karyn said. That left four other possibilities: Athena DeVries (witch-like freshman who was interested in the occult), Zelda Whitefield (cybergoth, also a freshman), Sabrina Johnson (punk goth junior), and Stephanie Wright (typical Goth who has a disturbing fascination with death, also a junior).
If Sarah was a Goth girl now, then the girl she swapped with must be what Sarah used to be before the swap.
"Karyn, who's the head of the cheerleaders?" Jon asked.
There was a moment of silence. Karyn was probably confused by the question. How would Jon forget something like that?
"Just humor me," Jon said.
"The head cheerleader is ..."
