Sarah opened the door, expecting to see Zoe standing on the doorstep, but her heart sank when she saw that it was someone else.
"Hi, Sarah," the person said. It was her best friend Tiffany Sanders. She looked at Sarah with confused eyes. "What are you wearing? Is that black?"
"Uh ... yeah. I ... uh ..." She paused for a moment, trying to think of what to say. Why was this happening to her? Her date with Zoe hadn't even started yet and she was already having problems. "Why are you here?" she finally asked Tiffany.
"What? Can't your best friend just stop by?"
"Uh ... sure. Yes, of course."
"Sarah, why are you acting so nervous? What's going on?"
Sarah was about to say something, but something caught her eye. It was Zoe! She was walking along the street towards the house. She was still far enough down the road, but she'd be there in no time at all. She had to get rid of Tiffany. She couldn't risk having her see Zoe and her together.
"Sarah?" Tiffany asked.
