The next day at school, Jon and Karyn met up and discussed ideas for more wishes, and actually made a few before school started. Jon had thought about leaving the stone at home, but then decided to bring it after all. He could just leave it in his locker if he didn't want to hang on to it himself.
Sarah watched them from behind some bushes. Okay, she was actually watching Karyn and not Jon. But what they were both doing piqued her interest even more. She didn't know how it was possible, but they apparently had a way to make wishes come true.
She was working up the courage to confess her love for Karyn, but maybe this wish thing was a better idea. Karyn may not accept her love. But if she could wish for Karyn to love her back ...
Sarah smiled, thinking about the life she could wish up for her and Karyn.
But first, she had to figure out how their wishes were coming true. She crept closer and hid behind a closer bush, then watched as Jon passed something small to Karyn. It looked like a stone. Could that be it? A stone? It seemed ridiculous. But so did wishes, a few moments ago.
Sarah needed to get her hands on that stone.
