Normally, Sarah loved going to school (but not for the "education" part, just the "being with her friends" and "cheerleading" parts), but the next morning, she dreaded it. All because of one thing - she had to tell everyone that she loved Jon Gibson. It was a total lie. She may have agreed to have sex with him, but she could never ever love him.
She entered the school, looking depressed. She really really wasn't looking forward to this. After today, no one would ever think of her the same way again. Talk about knocking her off the top of the social ladder. With something like this, she'd fall all the way to the bottom. But again, she had no choice. It was what Jon requested and she had to accept. She still didn't know why she had to, though. Just that she did.
So during the break between first and second period (everyone was at school by then), she walked into the main office and straight to the intercom system. It was the best way to tell everyone at once, just as Jon requested.
Jon was about to think that his request wouldn't be accepted when suddenly he heard the school PA system come on. Then he smiled when he heard Sarah's voice.
"This is Sarah McMillan." She paused. "I love Jon Gibson."
There were audible gasps in the hallway and almost everyone stopped what they were doing and fell into a commotion of questions. Was that really Sarah McMillan on the PA system? Why would she say that she loved Jon Gibson? Was it a prank? Was it genuine? No one had an answer.
Sarah took a step back from the PA system, dejectedly. She had just ruined her image and probably her life.
