After Zoe fell asleep, Jon made sure that the stone was safely tucked away. He didn't want to accidentally make a wish while he was sleeping. And after a moment or two, Jon fell asleep too.
Sometime during the night, Zoe's eyes opened. She looked at her lover and smiled. She loved him so much.
She slowly and quietly got out of bed and walked over to the nightstand on Jon's side of the bed. Then she carefully opened one of its drawers.
There it was. The stone. Even though Jon thought she was asleep when he hid it, she wasn't. She never wanted to deceive him, but she really wanted to use the stone. And she knew Jon wouldn't let her, despite the fact that they were lovers.
Grasping it in her hands, she whispered "I wish ..."
