Half-way to Karyn's house, Jon noticed a change in his stride. Instead of the long, leaping steps he'd been taking, running full-tilt to his friend's place, he had begun to mince along the sidewalk. Looking down, he noted that his shoes had transformed from running shoes into a pair of high-heeled, open toed, leather sandals.
Jon grinned. Sure, his sneakers had been comfortable, but he felt exhausted from the sprinting pace he'd been setting for himself. Now, in his new shoes, he was finally able to catch his breath.
Sure, Sarah was making changes, wishing things on him, that much was obvious. And sure, maybe he should get to Karyn's quickly to stop her from doing too much damage. But when Jon paused to think about it, what was the rush? The two wishes he'd noticed, one giving him his thin white miniskirt, the other his new shoes, he much preferred life after the wishes than before.
Maybe Sarah isn't such a bitch after all, Jon thought as he made his way toward Karyn's, this time at a much more relaxed pace.
