The person who picked up the stone was Lisa Williams, a girl in Jon's grade who was a well known feminist.
She picked up the stone and looked at it. "Weird, I've never seen a rock like this." she said. "I wish I knew where it came from." The stone flashed, and suddenly she did. She knew it had come, originally, from Peru, and that more recently, Jon had dropped it onto the sidewalk.
"How did I know that?" she asked herself, looking at the stone. She looked around, then whispered. "Um, I wish I knew how I knew that?" she tried, unsure it would work.
And yet, to her surprise, it did, and she suddenly knew that what she held was a wishing stone.
She couldn't help but to grin, thinking of all the things she could do with the stone.
