The stone glowed, granting Zoe's wish. But, unknown to her, the outcome of her wish was twisted, so that it wouldn't be what she intended.
"Give me that stone!" a girl yelled, before tackling Zoe to the ground. She knew that voice. But it couldn't be ...
She turned and looked up at the girl who had forced her to the ground. "Athena?" she asked. Athena DeVries was one of her Goth friends. But right now Athena didn't look Goth, not even in the slightest. In fact, she was wearing clothing very similar to her brother's, although sized to fit a girl.
Athena stood up, triumphantly, with the stone in her hand. "What?" she asked Zoe.
"What happened to Jon?" Zoe asked.
"Jon? Who's Jon? Wait, isn't that your friend? Jon ... DeVries?" Athena asked.
"Oh no," Zoe uttered. "My wish. It didn't work the way ..."
"You made a wish with this thing?" Athena asked, interrupting her. She reached down and grabbed Zoe's arm. "Tell me what you did!"
Instead of turning Jon into a Goth, the wish turned Jon into someone who was already a Goth - in this case, Athena. But since Athena was now Zoe's sister, that meant that Jon was now Zoe's friend ... Jon DeVries, a Goth boy who was deeply interested in witchcraft and the occult.
