When they got to Athena's house, Zoe asked her if anything looked familiar. But Athena said she didn't recognize anything.
They went to her bedroom to see if that jogged her memory. But that was also a failed attempt.
"I'm sorry, Zoe. I can't seem to remember anything."
"Maybe it'll take more time to remember," Zoe said, hoping that was true.
Athena looked around the room that was apparently her bedroom. It was obviously a Goth girl's room, with black-painted walls and black curtains, and many occult trinkets lying around. She looked at a few photos sitting around the room and saw herself in most of them, as well as Zoe, and another girl she didn't recognize.
"Who's that?" she asked, pointing at the third girl in the pictures.
Zoe turned around and looked. "That's Zelda."
"She's pretty."
"Yeah," Zoe said, sighing. "She is." Somehow she had to get her friend's memories back. "Athena."
Athena looked back at Zoe. "Yeah?"
"Can you tell me what you do remember? Maybe when you first started to notice you couldn't remember who you were?"
Athena thought for a moment. "I was in a bedroom."
"Okay."
"There was this girl. She was yelling at me to get out. She seemed pretty angry. So, I ... I ran away. Just like she wanted."
"Can you remember who the girl was?"
"No."
"Can you describe her?"
"Blond hair, pink halter top, white pleated miniskirt ...
Zoe listened to her description, but just from the start she could tell who Athena was describing. It was Sarah McMillan. The queen of the preps herself.
Zoe stood up from the bed. "Wait here."
"Where are you going?" Athena asked.
"The person you described is Sarah McMillan, the biggest bitch of all."
"I don't remember her."
"It doesn't matter. She's the one that made you forget who you are. And I'm going to make her undo it." Zoe left the room, and then the house, leaving Athena by herself.
