Something was wrong... because the wish that Jon play a little dress-up with Karyn was in the end just a diversion. It affected both of them, regardless of what things might usually turn them on, but eventually, it did end; fortunately, playing dress-up only once was enough to satisfy the wish.
At that point, they were both blushing and Karyn promised to be much more careful when making wishes. "Sorry, I was distracted, I was making silly wishes. I didn't mean to do that, Jon! I just don't know what to do about our real problem," said Karyn.
"I know," said Jon. Needless to say, Karyn didn't have to explain how bad the problem was--she had already wished Jon would understand.
Karyn's mother was home late the other day because she had spent a good deal of time on the road. She had to meet with an important client of the company she worked for who was 2 hours away--well over a hundred miles, and beyond the range of the wish stone. So when she got back, the changes in reality made by Karyn's wish didn't affect her.
And Karyn had wished for long blonde hair and big breasts. Long blonde hair is easy to get with a wig or some time and bleach. Big breasts are harder. But one thing that can lead to enlargement of breasts is motherhood. The wish, then, had created a new reality when Karyn was a mother; that's why she had a bag of baby supplies. Karyn's mother was only sure about the breasts and hair; she must have been suspicious about the baby, and more suspicious when she saw the bag of supplies, but for Karyn to have had a baby without her mother knowing was impossible. And without knowing about the stone, she couldn't be sure of the impossible.
It was, however, enough evidence for her to know that something very strange was going on, and to think Karyn had a whole secret life. And she had kicked Karyn out.
"I don't know what to do," said Jon. "You could reverse the wish... what we should have done in the first place. Wish that you have bigger breasts because you're wearing fakes rather than because you were nursing a baby."
"If I did that, it'd work," said Karyn. "My breasts would be back to normal. And the baby would be gone, and I'd be a murderer. We've got to think of something else...."
