Of course, what Jon ended up touching was the stone. "I wish that my zombie grandpa would be transformed to a normal human being."
The figure stopped shambling, hesitated, then magically the process of decay reversed itself. Jon's grandfather stood there again, at least until he sat down. Being dead can be exhausting.
A little while later, Jon was explaining to his grandfather what he had done by mistake.
"I brought you back as a zombie!"
"But you fixed it, Jon."
"Yeah. You know, the whole 'can't reverse' thing doesn't stop every wish."
"That's right, Jon. You weren't reversing the wish that I be walking around when you made me alive again. You know, some wishes are so easy to reverse that it's silly even thinking of them as problems."
