Jon awoke the next morning, having nearly forgotten about his wish the night before. As he crawled out of bed, he noticed a few odd changes in the room. His bed was covered in silk lavender sheets with matching laced throw pillows. Next to it was fully accessorized makeup vanity. Perhaps most odd were the posters on the wall. Many remained the same but with subtle changes. His Star Trek poster for instance, had the same layout and design but every character was now female. In fact there wasn't a single man on any of his posters. Or in his books, or any of his video games. What was going on?
Just then, the door opened and in came Jon's mom.
"Jen sweety, you'd better hurry if you want to..." She trailed off as she gazed at Jon, her eyes widening and mouth falling open.
"What's wrong, mom," Jon asked. "Why are you looking at me so weird?"
"Oh my god Jen." She approached him slowly, almost cautiously, her hand outstretched. "Is that you."
"Yeah it's me," Jon replied with confusion. "But why are you calling me Jen? That's a girl's name."
"A what," she asked as she brushed her hand across his face. "Your face, it's kind of rough, and...almost square. And your voice is so...so deep, I guess."
"Of course it is, mom. I'm a man."
"God Jen, you're just talking gibberish. You must be delirious." She then hugged Jon tight, fighting back tears. "It's okay, sweetheart. We'll get you help right away."
