Sam bolted after James as quickly as he could manage, only to slam into him as soon as he rounded the corner. His brother was pushed foreword, but rather than slamming to the ground, his body began to tumble in the middle of the air. Weightlessly, he spun, and slowly drifted forward, his long twintails acting as streamers gracefully tracing the chaotic path of his head through the air. James screamed as he flew, and with each passing second his voice began to grow higher, lighter, and more melodic, until his cries were replaced with a resounding. "OOOF" as he impacted with the stairs.

"Ah! No!" He cried out as he began to fly to the ceiling of the stairwell. He grasped for the hand rail, yet came up short. "Sam! Whaaas~ Goinnnn~ OOOohhhh~!" As he cried out for his brothers aid, his voice became more musical. His cries sounded like the whistling of a flute, and his articulation gave way to an incoherent piping.

Sam watched, mouth agape, but as his brother called his name he was broken from his stupor. In a smooth leap, he launched himself into the air, and wrapped his arms around his brother, rescuing him from his free fall. The figure he now hugged was a waif of his former self. While once tall and muscular, this figure was as slight as a child, and slim as a willow... And still shrinking! "I've got you James!" He shouted, as he landed on the stairs with a thud* Jame's only response was like the manic piping of a mad flautist. They were beautiful notes, and even amidst their chaotic composition, there was something balanced and musical about it. For a moment, it entranced Sam, and he found himself daydreaming of spring sunshine beaming through the window. The dream only lasted a moment as he shook himself from the spell and returned his attention to his brother. He spun the little figure around to face him, shouting the entire time. "James! James! are you ok?"

Again the piping began, only this time James seemed to realize his words had been rendered to tones and whistles. He recoiled in surprise, and then, looking up to her brother, attempted to speak again. Again, the only sounds to escape his lips were the piping sounds of an instrument, not unlike a panflute or ocarina. His face scrunched up and he scowled, this time letting out the distressed warble of a water whistle.

Lying there, watching his brother attempt to speak, Sam had his first moment to inspect the thing James was turning into. Jame's face had become rounder, and his eyes had turned golden and grown much larger. His lips were plump, and his nose had turned up into a cute button on his freckled face. As Sam turned his gaze downward, he realized the It may not be appropriate to call James a "He" any longer, as two pert breasts could be seen under the contour of his now oversized shirt. Beyond that His form had been rendered lithesome and a touch too small for her doll like head, giving her a cartoonish proportion. Her skin was bronze, though around her fingertips, lips, blush, and eyes, a golden hue crept across her skin, shimmering softly in the sunlight. Her hair, which drifted in the space, behind her, had become crowned in brambles and berries, with her twin tails being tied off by clusters of bright red mistletoe.

"Uhhh..." Sam grunted, while gently releasing his brother to the open air.

Another softer melody played in response as the older brother turned "little" sister examined her body. Her brow knitted up in concern, and she looked up the stairs. She whistled sharply, and pointed desperately back to the resting place of the box, though as she pointed, she began to drift in that direction. She flailed away as vertigo took her, but as focus returned, she drifted towards her destination with more and more confidence, though perhaps not much grace. She bumped into the walls more than once, and turned the corner to reach the box before. Sam, having been enthralled with the unexpected display, shouted out again. "James! Wait, Don't!"

He sprinted up the stairs to find...
