Back in his room, Jon quickly put the stone down and stared at it. He felt a chill run down his spine as he realized there was no way he could predict what would happen next. He quickly grabbed his cell phone and texted Karyn, telling her to come over to his place as soon as possible. She immediately answered saying she was already on her way over, that she'd wanted to talk about the stone anyway. Jon sighed. At least he could tell someone about his wish. Karyn might only remember the way things were now (if anything had changed) since she hadn't heard his wish, but at least she'd believe him. That gave him hope that maybe he could fix anything that might go wrong.

Jon put the phone down beside the stone on his desk and sat down at his computer. He turned the monitor on and nearly fell backwards out of his chair when he saw a man smiling at him and waving as soon as it powered up. He hadn't even turned the PC on yet so there couldn't have been anything on the screen.

"Hello!" a tinny voice said from the crappy speakers on his desk. "There you are! Thank goodness you finally turned that on."

"Wh- What are you doing in my computer?" Jon asked, stealing a glance at the stone.

"Well, technically, I'm talking to you through the monitor, not the computer, but that's beside the point," the man on the screen said. "I'm here because you did something stupid."

"What?"

"You made a wish just now that reverberated through reality," the man sternly repliled. "If only you hadn't worded it the way you had we might have been ok, but, no, you had to wish for something interesting."

Right about then there was a knock on Jon's door.
