Meanwhile...
"So... Want to hang out at my place?" Karyn asked Jon as they left the school.
Jon thought about it and while he'd rather hang out with his boyfriend elsewhere now, he thought it might be a good chance to see his old family again.
"Sure." Jon replied. He took Karyn's hand as they walked towards her house.
Reaching her house Karyn opened the door and let Jon go in first.
"Mom! I'm home!" She called out.
"I'm in the kitchen!" Came the reply from Karyn's mom.
"Fancy a drink?" Karyn asked Jon who nodded.
"Please." He replied.
"Hi Karyn. How was your day?" Roger asked as the two teenagers entered the room. "Oh hello Jon." Roger said once he spotted him.
"It was ok mom." Karyn replied as she got a couple of drinks out of the fridge.
"Is that a new top dear?" Roger asked Jon.
"Yeah it is actually." Jon replied. "I decided to ditch the tomboy look and get some new clothes over the weekend." He explained.
Roger nodded approvingly. "Well I think it suits you dear." He said smiling.
"Thanks Roger." Jon said as he took the drink that Karyn was offering.
Just then they heard the front door open and Robert entered the kitchen.
"Hi sweetie." Roger greeted him. "How was school?" He asked.
"Fine." Robert grunted as he also took a drink out then fridge. He then shut the door and went upstairs where they heard loud music blaring out from shortly afterwards.
Roger shook his head and tutted as he turned his attention back to the ironing.
Karyn took that as a cue and told her mom that they'd be in her room. She took Jon's hand and led him upstairs.
