Later that afternoon Gary groaned as he slouched in the back of Melissa's car. While he was glad that school was over, he wasn't sure if he was in a much better position.
As soon their last class had ended Melissa insisted that Gary should go to the mall with her. To help cheer Gary up she had said. Mikey, who seemed to think that this was a great idea, said that he would come along as well.
And so Gary found himself in the back of Melissa's pink convertible with two teenage (or one who thought he was) girls who where yelling at the top of their lungs to the pop song blaring out of the radio.
Mikey stopped signing long enough to turn around and look at Gary. He frowned when he saw Gary slouching in the back seat resting his head on his hand.
"What's wrong babe?" Mikey asked concerned for his friend. Gary was never this glum.
Gary looked up from his thoughts and stared at the boy.
