"Okay, I don't know where Supay is. I tried using the stone to know, but I guess he's outside the wishing range," Jon said.
Santa gave him an odd look.
"What?" Jon asked.
"You said you wished to know where he was, but the stone didn't grant your wish?" he asked.
"Yeah ... but the stone has a range ..."
"Which you're in, since you're holding it. Jon, you wished for information, not for Supay to be brought here, or for you to go to him. The stone should just put the information in your head."
Jon paused for a moment. "Okay, yeah, I guess I didn't think of it like that. But, if that's the case, then how come it didn't work?"
"Something must be blocking the wish from being granted," Santa said.
"Can something do that?"
"Another stone? Or maybe another magical artifact? Perhaps it's something unknown to even me. Whatever it is, I think it's best that we find out."
"But what about my grandfather?" Jon asked.
"I'm sorry, Jon. But that'll have to wait. We can't allow your stone to be compromised."
