Jon was in the middle of trying on an outfit in the girl's dressing rooms when he heard his phone ring through the curtain. His mom handed him the phone. Jon smiled when he saw that the caller was Karyn.
"Hey Karyn" he said.
"Hi Jon. Want to hang out?" Karyn asked.
"Well I'm just out shopping with mom." Jon explained. "But we can meet up in a bit. I can text you when I'm done"
"Sounds great" Karyn said. "Let me know and I'll meet you at the food court" Karyn said and then she hung up.
Jon reached through the curtain and handed his mom the phone. He finished getting dressed and then pulled the curtain back to reveal himself to his mother.
"Oh honey" she said. "That's a cute outfit".
"Thanks mom" Jon replied turning to get a look at himself in the mirror. He was wearing a pink crop top and light blue skinny jeans. On his feet he wore pink ballerina flats. Jon nodded in satisfaction deciding that he really liked this outfit.
Jon changed back into his regular clothes and then helped his mom carry the many clothes that he had already selected to the checkout.
"Thanks for helping me mom" Jon said as they walked.
"Not a problem sweetheart" She replied. "I'm glad that you're finally getting out of that tomboy phase of yours"
Jon blushed. They had reached the checkout and started paying for all of Jon's clothes. As each item was added up Jon texted Karyn to let her know they where finished.
"Hey mom?" Jon asked. "Karyn's going to meet me at the food court" he told her.
His mother nodded. "If you'd like I can take these back home for you and leave them in your room?" She suggested.
"Oh thanks mom. You're the best!" Jon replied and he hugged his mom. "Actually though I wouldn't mind changing into that last outfit if that's ok?"
"That's fine honey. I'm sure Karyn will like it" His mom said.
"I hope so too" Jon said. They finished paying and then Jon picked out the clothes and headed into the girl's restrooms to get changed. He entered a stall and then put on the clothes he was trying on earlier. Jon then handed his old clothes to his mom said goodbye and then went to meet Karyn.
He couldn't wait to show Karyn his new outfit.
