"But...grownups are supposed to be bigger than kids. You should be bigger than me if you're the mommy."
Sally paused. She did have a point...but...
Sally's phone rang making both of them jump. As Sally picked it up off the table she said to Sharon "you're just big for your age".
"Hello?" Sally asked answering the phone. "Oh hi Emily! How are things going?"
As Sally talked Sharon tired to listen in. Emily was the mother of one of Sally's friends.
"I'm sure she'd like that. Hang on, I'll ask her" Sally put her hand over the speaker as she looked at Sharon.
"Mrs Miller was wondering if you would like to go over for lunch and play with Jessica?"
Sharon figured that she and Sally had swapped friends which meant that Jessica was hers and Emily, Mrs Miller was Sally's now. Hanging out with Jessica did sound fun though Sharon thought.
Sharon nodded.
"Yes" Sally replied to Mrs Miller. "Sharon would love to come round. I'll bring her around in a couple of minutes. See you soon" Sally hung up and then said to Sharon "Why don't you get ready while mommy finishes vacuuming?"
Sharon nodded and headed up to her bedroom to get ready. Once she was out of sight of her mother she pouted. It seemed that her mother didn't think that anything was wrong between them.
Was there anyone who did?
