Mikey was distracted when he heard the doorbell ring. A few moments later he heard his mother shout "Mikey! Melissa's here!" "Ok!" He replied back. He took one last look at his hair and then headed downstairs to greet his new friend. "Hey Mikey" Melissa said "Ready to go?" Mikey nodded and they headed out of the door.
As they left the house they passed Karyn who had just come home. She greeted them with a nod as they headed to Melissa's pink convertible. Mikey stopped when he saw the car. He couldn't be seen in this. Melissa noticed that he had stopped. "What's wrong babe?" Mikey saw her looking at him funny "nothing" he lied and got in the car.
As they drove to the mall Melissa had the roof down and the wind was blowing through his new locks of hair. Melissa also had the radio tuned to a local pop station and was playing it loudly. Mikey didn't know any of the words to the songs but Melissa did, she was singing along all the way while Mikey just listened. Although he did find himself enjoying the music.
