Back at the Gibson house there was a Jon Gibson there, but not the same one as before the wish. Sarah McMillan was sitting on Jon's bed in his room, she was wearing the clothes that Jon had been wearing before the wish; a red t-shirt with a yellow lighting blot in the middle (it was Jon's favourite), baggy jeans and white socks. Her hair was no longer long and blonde, it was now cut short in a boys' style and black. Sarah didn't need a bra as she was a boy but her breasts were bound by white tape underneath her shirt to reduce the size of them and make them less noticeable.
Sarah was worried, she had just made a stupid wish with her rock and while nothing seemed to have happened, she was sure that something was off. Sarah had sent a text to her best friend Karyn to call her when she was available, after a few minutes the phone rang and Sarah answered it. "Hey Jon-boy, what's the problem?" Karyn asked "Karyn! I've done something stupid with the rock." Sarah said panicking "Uh oh, that doesn't sound good. What did you wish for?" "I just wished that something interesting would happen." Sarah told her "Wow, that was a stupid wish" Karyn agreed "and rather vague as well. Anything could happen" "I know" Sarah replied "I'm going out of my mind with worry, but nothing seems to have happened yet."
"Well that's good news." Karyn said "But you didn't actually specify that it would happen to you though did you? Karyn asked "No" Sarah said realising what she was getting at "It could happen to anyone" Karyn continued "Have you thought about asking the stone what you wished for?" "That's a good idea, thanks karyn" Sarah said as she grabbed the rock "I wish to know what my last wish did." Karyn on the other end of the line waited until Sarah spoke again "Apparently the stone says that if I knew what it was then it wouldn't be interesting." She told Karyn "Really? That's odd" Karyn replied "Well I guess that we will just have to keep our eyes open then. I'll see you tomorrow at school, bye" "Bye" Sarah replied as she hung up.
"Well that was helpful" Sarah thought as she headed downstairs to the kitchen where her mother Linda, was preparing dinner. "Hey mom," Sarah asked her "Do you notice anything different about me?" Linda stopped what she was doing and then looked at Sarah "No honey, you look the same as always. Why do you ask? Have you added more padding 'down there'?" Linda asked "What?" Sarah asked confused about what she was asking at first and then realised "Oh no, mom. I was just wondering" Linda put her hand on Sarah's shoulder "Look honey, I know how much you want to be a boy. But we talked about this, you can't have the operations until you're 18." "I know mom" Sarah said sighing.
For as long as she could remember Sarah had always wanted to be a boy. When she was a little girl she refused to wear skirts and dresses or have her hair long, she liked to wear t-shirts and trousers and play games like football with all the other boys. When she was younger it was easy to fool everyone but as she got older, it got harder. Eventually she told her best friend Karyn her secret and while she was shocked at first, Karyn eventually accepted it and the two remained friends. Sarah was glad that she had such a caring family and friend, but if only she could be a real boy.
