Jon sighed, recognising the faces of two of his friends, Trevor and Damien. Neither of them were close friend's of his, but it was comforting seeing them none-the-less.
Trevor was a goth, the same age as Jon. They'd been best friends when they were little, but as they'd gotten older had drifted apart slightly and Trevor had become best friends with Jon's younger sister Zoe who had also gone goth as a teenager. Still they got on well and Trevor was probably Jon's second best friend after Karyn.
Damien on the other hand was a year younger, the same age as Zoe. He'd moved to the town a few years before and had quickly become an outcast at school. Jon wasn't sure if he was emo because he'd become an outcast, or if the other kids had ostracised him for being an emo. Not everyone had been cruel to him, but most were indifferent at best. Jon had first met him when he'd had a study session with Zoe who was his lab partner and had gotten on well with him casually. Before long they'd quickly become casual friends, bonding over a few mutual interests, but had never become that close. Jon was a bit wary of getting too close because he knew Damien had a crush on him and was frightened of accidentally hurting him if they got too close.
Regardless, it was comforting seeing them there.
