Jon awoke the next day still oblivious to the results of his wish. Thinking the stone must be glitching, he went about his normal routine. He was just heading into the kitchen to grab some breakfast before meeting up with Karyn before school when his mother waylaid him.
"Jonny," she smiled, handing him a tray with a cooked breakfast on it, "Can you take this up to your sister, it is her special day today."
He sighed, taking the tray and headed upstairs with it, grumbling about how spoiled she was - no one ever brought him breakfast in bed on his birthday. He pushed open her bedroom door with his shoulder and plonked the tray down on the end of her bed.
"Here you go brat," he grumbled, "Grub's up."
"Is that the way to speak to your sister on her birthday?" she grinned, playfully. "You haven't even given me your present yet."
"You'll get it tonight," he replied, realising he'd forgotten all about it and would need to get one on the way home from school.
"You haven't bought one have you," she grinned. He glanced at her, unnerved by her constant smirking. "No worries, you can make up for it now."
