What Jon was unaware of was that his wish had triggered a chain reaction that rippled through time. In order to fulfill his wish It had unleashed something that had been sealed away for thousands of years.
Nearly eight thousand years ago, when magic and myths ruled the earth before it was sealed away forever. There was a great and powerful Djinn who terrorized the primitive humans. The Djinn was a sly trickster and took great pleasure in playing with people as a child would of a new toy. The Djinn had lay waste to many powerful mages and sorcerers over the hundreds of years and his reign of terror was well known, his unique brand of curses left those in his path a perverse shell of their former selves.
Entire armies of knights, and soldiers were no match for his magicks as they were turned into obscene piles of pitiful flesh and body parts.
It wasn't until entire countries and kingdoms and taken up force against the mad Djinn that his terrible rule had been ceased. The Djinn's magic was far too powerful to be extinguished. A consortium of all the worlds most famous and renown sorcerers, mages, fairys, witches, Djinn and even demons banded their magicks together in order to bind the mad genie.
In the unaltered timeline, their efforts had been successful. The Djinn had been cornered at the cost of thousands of casualties. His spirit had been entombed within a writhing slab of stone. The slab was then hidden deep within the bowels of the earth locked away for thousands of years. The only evidence of it's existence was small piece of stone that had been chipped off of during it's burial. Which was found thousands of years later during an archelogical dig by an young adventurer.
In this altered timeline however that chipped stone had weakened the seal on the slab, and over the next couple thousand years the presence inside had writhed and fought to break that small crack in the seal. It was during the beginning of the rise of the pyramids that the Djinn had succeeded in breaking free from it's prison. His power was substantially weakened however he sought to continue exactly where he left off before he was imprisoned. He could sense very little magic left in this new world and grinned maliciously as he could now freely take his vengeance upon the world with no one able to stop him
Thus began the age of Max Von Crucial.
