"Hey, where are you going?" Melissa asked, still freaking out over her sudden weight gain.
"Outta here," Jessica answered. "I have more important things to do than to sit around here. Like plan out the next routine for the cheerleader squad. I know it looks easy, but being the captain of the cheerleaders is no walk in the park."
"What?" Melissa snorted. "You're not the captain of the cheerleaders! I am, you ditz!"
"Mooooo!" Sarah the cow uttered.
Suddenly, once again, the library rippled, and then Melissa felt weird. She felt ... lightheaded? She tried to stifle a giggle and a snort, but failed.
Jessica shook her head and left the library, now thinking that Melissa Smith was not only one of the fattest girls in school, but also a total ditz. Maybe that's why she could never lose any weight. If Jessica's head was in the clouds as much as Melissa's was, maybe she'd be overweight too. Okay, well, maybe not.
"It just happened again," Jon said.
"What happened again?" Karyn asked, confused.
It was plainly clear now that Karyn couldn't see the changes happening right in front of her, and Jon couldn't convince her of it either. At least, not without the help of the stone, which he had left at home. He'd have to wait until after school to go use it. But until then, he'd have to keep an eye on these changes and see if there was some sort of a pattern to them.
