Jon waited for a few minutes, but nothing happened. At least, nothing that he would describe as being "interesting", so he just went about his night finishing his homework, watching some TV, then going to bed.
But what he didn't know was that his wish did do something interesting. It's just that the right circumstances hadn't happened yet.
Any insult that was made in Jon's presence (within earshot of him, in other words) would be turned against the one who made it, whether it was directed at Jon or not. So, if someone were to meanly call someone else a bimbo (and Jon would hear them say it), then the person who made the insult would become a bimbo. And reality would shift around them so that they were always like that.
But changes wouldn't stop there. If, as a bimbo, that same person called another person a slut, then the newly-created bimbo would become a slut also. The effect was cumulative, so that all insult-related changes would exist simultaneously. So if that same person continued making more insults, like calling someone "fatty" and someone else "Goth freak", then that person would become a fat gothic bimbo slut, and reality would change so that the person was always like that.
Of course, since this all would happen because of a wish he made, Jon's memories wouldn't change to fit the new reality, since he heard his own wish. But as to whether or not the changed person's memories changed ...
(well, that's up to the author)
