"Did you peak?" The boy said as he came he came around the van to take his friend's hand.
"Nooooooo," Saorise replied, "I would never do that." But the too broad smile on her face told him that she was lying. He sighed and smirked himself.
"Just open your eyes," he said.
Her eyes popped open to reveal strange golden cats pupils, which were with curiosity at the pink and peach dollhouse in front of her. It was the size of the prior house, but more wondrous and adorable. And the front yard had recently begun to change, as well, with grass and dirt being replaced by rolling green plastic.
"Is it all for me?" She purred.
"The house and all the toys inside are yours Saorise McMillian," the boy said, wrapping the fae girl around her lithe waist.
"You spoil me, Brendan Meadows," the girl said, waiting no more before rushing to the patio and through the red plywood door, laughing all the way. Brendan followed behind, inspecting his work all the way. He watched his girlfriend with a cheshire cat smile as she gawked at the toys he had made for her. And the dolls were more wonderful than either could ever have imagined.
There was a graceful ballerina in a pink tutu and plastic smile, a raggedy doll with striped stockings and yarn hair, a toy soldier in sharp red jacket with a cute plastic gun, and a space adventurer with plastic buttons and imbedded flashing lights.
They turned to look at Saorise with joyous smiles. The ballerina curtsied, while the soldier and space adventurer saluted her. The rag doll tried mightily, but her body was too floppy and she tipped right over with a giigle. But more interesting than their outsides were their insides.
Two were two police officers whose unrequited love for each other was only answered once they became Saorise's dolls, and two teenage boys that she recognized from playing school. Each one of the humans were trapped within plastic or plush, their minds just as chained as their bodies. They thought like dolls, desiring to be played with or to be displayed. The would have loved to be owned by Saorise, and would do whatever she wanted them to.
That, however, was boring. It would be so much more fun to see the trapped human come to grips with their new doll life. The life of an object. The life of Saorise's toy. But one at a time; it would annoy her too much to deal with multiple whining humans.
But which doll should she play with first?
