The now diminutive Jon slipped out of the house and made his way next door, the home of Mr. and Mrs. Pete and Tammy Nickel. Jon had known his neighbours for the two years that they'd lived next door to him, and in that time hadn't gotten to like them one bit. They weren't bad people, just the type of people that drove Jon crazy.
They were perfect.
Both were in peak physical condition, Pete being a long distance runner and Tammy an aerobics instructor. They were beautiful people. Wealthy, well dressed, good manners. It made him nuts.
Sure, much of it was probably jealousy, but what could he do? He was only human!
He tried the front door and found it unlocked. The illusion of the safe neighbourhood gained him access. Somewhere in the house he could hear the couple speaking. He crept along, careful not to make any noise, until he found them washing dishes together.
"And the dessert!" Pete was gushing, "Babe, you are the best baker ever! I've never tasted a cake so good!"
"Stop it!" Tammy giggled, "You're making me blush!"
"Why would I stop it?" he continued, a growl in his voice, "You know how hot you make me when you blush."
Jon couldn't take it any more. He raised the Super Swapper and pressed the button.
