Since you want to know peoples mental change views here are mine.
Many TG story mental changes I dislike. if a man becomes a woman then changes to like his body or worse think he is a woman it ruins the point of the story. Once it is a story about a woman being a woman the TG feels gone regardless of her origin. Even worse is the typical tg story bodyswap FtM instant adaptation where immediately post change she is a macho brute who lives to crossdress and make love to the MtF side of the swap.
What I like in mental changes is this. I mostly like the mind clashing with a body, Especially if it makes a man act girly or gay. This could be anything from a personality swap making a man act like a woman, a man hypnotized to be a woman, or even a woman becoming a man with no mental changes at all. I love men acting like women without looking female.
On very rare occasions I like changes that compel a man to make love to another guy or crossdress against his will but that is rare as most forced stuff is too antagonistic and hostile for my tastes. When that happens it is usually in fantasies where a woman shares a mans body with him and strives to have some of her life. That makes it more freeing her than forcing him, though it is a bit of both in a way. Igenerally hate forced changes and scenes and much prefer changes caused by accident, playful mischief, friends joking around, random magic chance, experimentation for knowledge that does not intend malevolence, or unknowing/unknown manipulation.
