It is not uncommon for someone walking down the street to get an odd feeling that they are being watched. And indeed they are... many forces are at work secretly observing us from afar. And by holding the wishing stone Jon draws alot of attention from them.
From the grey cloaked scribe who records all events of mystical importance, to the circle of 12 exiled wizards in their prison realm, to several alien species, to the hosts of heaven, hell, and a dozen other afterlifes Jon was being watched.
But this wish, this innocuous wish that something interesting happens is enough to change things. Perhaps a new set of eyes lands upon Jon, perhaps a watcher decides to take action. Only the next morning can tell.
