The next morning when Jon woke up, he saw the golden apple that used to be his magic wishing stone still sitting on his nightstand. Still remembering what happened the previous day, he tries yet again to get a wish granted. "I wish that the color of you is red." he says as a test but just like the previous evening, nothing happens.
Sighing to himself, he drops his head in anguish. "I guess I can just give it to a teacher or something. Tell her that it's some sort of exotic apple that was sent to me by a relative in another country or something." he says to himself as he gets out of bed and gets dressed.
What he doesn't realize is that even though the stone, or apple rather, doesn't grant wishes anymore, doesn't make it any less magical as it still possesses qualities and properties that if one were to know how to use them, they would certainly want it for themselves.
After eating breakfast and grabbing his backpack full of school supplies, he tells his mom goodbye as he and his younger sister Zoe get on the bus to head to school. Since he didn't have a car yet, he was stuck with this until he could save up enough money to buy one.
Little did he know he'd get his first glimpse of the new powers of his golden apple when he got on the bus.
