“Home I think that is where we have the most resources. So if you want a private cure you can or go to court wizards who should be able to turn you into a man.” Albert said thoughtfully while looking expectantly at the transformed Garrett.
Garrett solemnly thought about it for before reluctantly agreeing with her young squire. In her vulnerable state a man could easily ravish her. Not that she might not enjoy it she smiled to herself. Wait where did that idea come from? She realized that Albert awaited an answer and he might worry if she lingered. Garrett finally responded, “Yes I think you are right. Let’s get going.” She hurried to get to the trail. The beauty of the surroundings began to truly catch her eyes. She surveyed the ground for flowers that might look good in her glistening hair.
With Albert’s awkward silence because he didn’t know how to comfort his master combined with the long ride ahead of them gave Garrett time to think to herself. Why did she have a boy name? And these clothes were uncomfortable as well. Albert seemed to want to have her become a man. Didn’t he like her body? So many questions swirled in her head. The more insidious nature of spell began to overwrite her mind. Lady Melody paid handsomely to add mental effects to the transformation spell she purchased.
Elsewhere as Lady Melody watched a mirror image of the scene she whispered words into Garrett’s mind. She decided to take a break so that she could draw it out. Let the former man recover some of himself before she struck again. She laughed out loud to with only book lined shelves to hear her. Her studies progressed well but she desire for revenge caused her to seek a nigh on unbreakable spell for Garrett. She delighted in the idea of Garrett’s cure attempts that would being met with failure. Melody wavered between turning her into a woman of easy virtue or a simple wife who churned out baby after baby in a domestic prison. His only adventures would be in child rearing.
Sir Garrett made his fair share of enemies over his years of noble service. Perhaps giving one of them the opportunity to punish him over his life time. Why should she have all the fun? Melody smiled to himself. With her stomachs rumbling she decided to eat before making any decisions.
Without the dark influence of Melody the paladin’s mental stability returned. With its return he questioned what to do as his next move. Telling Albert about the mental misstep might unduly worry him. Still it went against Garrett’s nature to deceive a trusted companion.
