The cloud needed to change people; change them physically. It decided to alter their memories as well, to accommodate their new bodies, but leave them with vague memories that they had once been different. Anyone it didn't change would remember the old reality. The cloud enjoyed the chaos that would cause. Only Jon, who had made the wish, would be immune to its memory changes. As most of the people that it changed were asleep, they would not be aware of any changes until the morning.
After much deliberation, he cloud picked its first victim.
