Jon snoozed peacefully, unaware of the cloud entity he had unknowingly unleashed on his own town.
As a product of the stone's magic the cloud's effects were likewise reality-altering, but also limited by the stone's range. Any victim enveloped by the entity could find their entire life changed to something completely different.
And it didn't stop at people, since just like the stone's wishing power the cloud could alter any matter and reality would adjust to match.
However the entity chose to keep its victims' memories intact, so they would always remember their previous lives... even if the reality-altering effects of its powers meant their family and friends did not. Perhaps the cloud fed on the psychic energy of the torment and humiliation or others, or perhaps it just had a sense of humour...
Even if they slept, the victims would awake fully aware of their changes. Jon was the sole exception, he was the person who wished for the cloud (even if he didn't mean to) and the only one who heard his wish. He alone would retain a full grasp of his previous reality.
It drifted silently through the sky, about the size of a person but with each transformation it would grow imperceptibly. It blended seamlessly in with the twin's natural cloud cover, unless it moved in directions other than that which the wind told it too "“ which it could if it had to. However the cloud was as slow as any other, and it would take days to alter the whole town even as it grew. Those it reached tonight were but the first lucky few...
